Bontle Mphuti and her partner Joy Kraal held their first-ever “Unstoppable” OD 2026 pageant at the Odendaalsrus community hall. It was a celebration of talent, confidence, and hope for the youth of Odendaalsrus. The initiative aimed to give local youth a platform to express themselves, showcase their talents, and to believe in their dreams. Miss Mphuti explained that the name “Unstoppable” was inspired by their vision of empowering children to overcome limitations. “We chose the name unstoppable because we want our children to have the freedom to dream big and go anywhere in life without feeling restricted. As the organisers, we will always be there to support and guide them wherever their paths take them,” she said.

According to the organisers, the event was also inspired by a lack of activities for young people in the area, especially during school holidays when many children don’t have enough activities to keep them busy. But when you look at them closely, you see so much potential and so many dreams waiting to be discovered, Miss Mphuti added. Despite being their first edition of the pageant, the event was a great success and drew strong community support. Miss Mphuti said she felt proud to show the people of Odendaalsrus that the town’s children are talented and capable of achieving great things. “I feel so blessed to have seen so many people come out to support the pageant. It showed that our community believes in its children,” she said.

The organisers were also grateful to secure their first sponsor for the event. Timeless Elegance added a special touch to the occasion by providing beautiful, precious stones that the young contestants proudly wore. “Our children have absolutely beautiful. We are very thankful to Timeless Elegance for believing in our vision,” Bontle said. The judging panel for the pageant included Miss Queen of the State 2025, Miss South Africa Heritage 2024, and Miss Joy Kraal. Miss Free State Teenager 2022 also graced the ceremony for the day. Mr Phakamile Zangwa, the founder of Kwa Zangwa (Pty) Ltd, kept the crowd entertained throughout the event. The photographer, Mr Avive Sanda, who captured the special day, ensuring that the young contestants’ memories will last a lifetime.

Looking ahead, the organisers hope the event will continue to grow and gain wider recognition. “Our dream for ‘unstoppable’ OD is for it to become bigger and well-known. We hope to attract more sponsors and support so that we can continue creating opportunities for children,” said Bontle. She also encouraged individuals and businesses to get involved and support the initiative. “With the support of the community, we can achieve so much. Without them, we are nothing,” she said.
